thanks for sharing this Danny - i was only mulling over this yesterday (leaders and followers)... this is a ice way of putting it. I agree with TLR that we dont need any more train wrecks - and i'll add - head ons with cars... so a comfy bus ride is awesome. Thanks for sharing your thoughts xc

The journey is definitely the most important part - the transport used to deliver us can be secondary, but it is much nicer in company for sure. :)

Danny, I'm glad you used a bus analogy and not a train; I've had just about enough of trains today...! But that's beside the point!

I like the comparison of the day to day operations of the business as a journey; indeed, as the importance of efficient operations increases ever more steeply due to the economy, our ability to undertake several actions simultaneously is challenged. It is our responsibility to ensure that not only are we able to 'deliver our fare safely', but to ensure that we are able to do so whilst navigating the thousands of obstacles placed in front of us on a daily basis.

    Insightful as always, Danny.

    Well said. :)

You remind me of the double-decker bus used for sight-seeing. It is the experience between here and there, not the destination per se.

Are you saying I'm big and ugly, Hendry? ;-)

As I mentioned to Charlie, I agree with you 100% - the journey is always more important than the vehicle, although a bus full of passengers can make the journey more enjoyable than being the solitary driver in a compact car.

Ah, the delights of the deregulated British rail system, Chris... ;-)

Multi-tasking and multi-faceting is going to become the norm for anyone or any business that wants to succeed today and in the future. We can't rely on just being good at one thing now - there are too many variants that will deviate us from our paths if we let them. After all, even staying on the same path can sometimes get you lost...

Uh oh, did I really say that? I mean... your post reminded me. Lol...
