The blog is much more professional that I am and doesn't contain any cursing ;-) I've learned over time to write more like I speak - it's more conversational and sometimes snarky, although I still don't curse. Umm ... what's my point? Oh yeah - I wish I had read a post like this when I had that mini-crisis.

Re: What's Your Voice | danny brown

I also use only one voice - take it or leave it

Re: What's Your Voice | danny brown

Danny this is a fantastic post - seriously, favorite one to date.

Re: What's Your Voice | danny brown

You are right. Our voice is the ONE thing we can control in a world of variables.

Re: What's Your Voice | danny brown

My Voice... For me I am the same. Believe it or not, but I talk to everyone the same. I have made it very important that my clients know who I am as a person, so when they do search the internet for me there are no surprises.

I think that changing my voice would be the worse thing I could do to myself. I believe that my clients like the person I am and the work I do, so this is why they stay with me. Even when my clients are in the US and I live in Costa Rica.

Re: What's Your Voice | danny brown

This is such an important question because your voice is what separates you from others. Literally and figuratively.

That movie preview guy has quite a voice. Apple has quite a voice. Steve Tyler has quite a voice.

"You control whether you help change the world or accept the status quo. Your control defines the perception of you by others."

Couldn't have said it better :)
